Amin Hakim

Dr. Hakim is the Medical Director at Bright HealthCare.


Dr. Amin Hakim has held leadership positions including the chief medical officer in the provider and payer settings. He has been a chair or member of the Technology Assessment and Medical Policy Committees apart from chairing or being a member of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Drug Policy Committees at regional and national health plans.

His research and bibliography have included resource utilization and quality of care, and more recently telehealth, and has presented at regional and national conferences. Dr. Hakim started his clinical career in academia where he led quality improvement through clinical guidelines and process transformation and served as a medical staff officer at a tertiary care center.

Apart from his work responsibilities, Dr. Hakim has served as a volunteer with non-medical organizations and professional societies such as The Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE; now known as the American Association for Physician Leadership, AAPL), and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He is a Fellow of the IDSA and the ACPE and is a certified physician executive.

He was a member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Quality Health Care and is currently a member of the Editorial Board of and a peer reviewer for the Physician Leadership Journal. He has served as a peer reviewer for several infectious disease and healthcare business journals, and for research and healthcare technology annual conferences.
